International Disaster Reduction Conference, Davos

inTERRAgate recently gave a presentation on our involvement in the COGSS project (Coalition for Global School Safety) - which is hosted on the inTERRAgate site - at the IDRC in Davos, Switzerland.

The presentation focused on data sharing and co-ordination through the inTERRAgate and COGSS projects, and demonstrated how users would be able to submit their information into the databases.

The session reviewed key issues required to establish disaster reduction initiatives within schools by addressing; improved building and construction methods; sustainability of initiatives; Disaster Reduction Culture development and practical ways forward to increase the survivability of children within hazard risk communities. The session was designed to act as briefing on current activities and demonstration of a truly united and coordinated Inter Agency Global effort to enhance disaster reduction within all vulnerable Schools and communities.
